If I could give no stars I would.
I'm in a wheelchair, I only leave the house once a week because I have to pay £15 an hour to a care company for someone to push me, as cancer and its treatment has caused nerve damage and scarring called fibrosis which is inflexible and has adhered to the chest wall causing pain.
I've had numerous ops, chemo, lost all my hair, radiotherapy and drug therapy over the last 2yrs and was at an all-time low.
So, as my hair has now grown back, I decided to have a hair cut to try and cheer myself up a bit.
I sat in the Que for half an hour, when a woman walked in and sat down, the female stylist smiled and said, "good morning" to her.
Then the lady in front of me went to the male stylist and I should have been next.
However, the woman who had just walked in went up to the female stylist and whispered something to her to which she said at the top of her voice, "of course, no problem" and the woman sat down in the chair.
Whatever she said she obviously repeated to the stylist who again, repeated loudly that it was no problem and started to cut her hair.
I was shocked and sat for a few more minutes thinking she would at least have the decency to speak to me but she continued to completely ignore me.
I felt worthless and told the carer to take me back to the car where I cried.
The woman who had just walked in was obviously a friend and didn't have an appointment, otherwise she would have said and out of common courtesy so would the stylist.
I can only assume the whispered message that was "no problem" for the stylist was a question of cutting the Que.
I'd sat there half an hour, costing me £7.50 for the carer to sit with me, to be completely ignored.
Not only did I go straight home that day but I haven't left the house again since for fear of being treated like this again.
Although I have to say, that even though I've had some negative comments and treatments from some people over the years, I have never been completely ignored in any situation ever.
So to the stylist who was working alongside the male stylist last Tuesday morning, congratulations, you have won the award and I hope you and your friend who cut the Que, of which I was the only other person anyway, are both really proud of yourselves.
